A Beginning Worth Sharing

From a writer’s conference to a bookstore dream

When I attended my first writers conference, I expected to learn about craft, publishing, and the world of storytelling. What I didn’t expect was how much it would shape a dream that had been quietly growing in my mind for a long time.

Being surrounded by writers, editors, and people who love books reminded me of something simple but powerful: stories connect us. They help us understand each other, explore ideas, and imagine possibilities we might not otherwise see.

During the conference, there were moments when I felt both inspired and humbled. Listening to authors talk about their journeys—how their ideas began as small sparks and slowly became books—reminded me that every creative path begins with a single step.

As I returned home to Fallon, I kept thinking about how meaningful those conversations were and how powerful it is when people who love books gather together. That reflection became part of the inspiration behind The Whispering Nook & Quill.

My hope for the bookstore is to create a place where that same spirit exists every day—a place where readers discover stories, where writers feel encouraged, and where the community can gather around the simple joy of books.

The Whispering Nook & Quill is still in its early chapters, but every step along the way has been a reminder of why stories matter.

And I’m grateful to be on this journey.
